Sorry for the lack of updates!

My grandmother is doing much better---speedily recovering from surgery and back at home. Mom and Dad are still out with her on Long Island.

Laura is heading back to Kenyon for her junior (!) year at the end of the week, so Dad will be heading back to New Jersey soon to help her get ready and drive with her (two Saabs in tandem) back to Ohio just in time for the start of fall term.

I am still working long hours (and weekends!) finishing up a big project due at the end of next week. It's challenging and interesting and I am really enjoying myself despite the perpetual exhaustion.

The fall semester at University of Colorado began yesterday. David is only taking one class this semester, so he can focus more fully on his research. I need to order him some wedding pictures to decorate his office up in the engineering building.

We are counting down to our honeymoon: we leave for beautiful Baja California in a little over the month! I am so ready for pina coladas on the beach.

Love to Grandma!

This is one of my very favorite photos from our wedding of my grandmother and our flower girl Georgia.

Happy Anniversary, David!

Here's to a month of wedded bliss. We really are so incredibly happy.

I won't subject you to any more mush than that.

NEWS, etc.

Please check out my new photography portfolio and let me know what you think!

The Leyba's, the Spritzer's, and the Spritzer Leyba's.

David and I still haven't fully recovered from the wedding. Our living room furniture is still in the study. There are cranes everywhere (a little less than a thousand since several family members took some for Christmas and car decorating). Boxes from Crate & Barrel are littering the entryway. The globe lights are still in the backyard, though we don't plan to take them down until the winter. And we are still pooped. Yep, still exhausted. I am hoping we'll have recovered by the honeymoon (late September), so we can really enjoy ourselves in beautiful Baja! We are counting the days...

Wedding feast

Just a small part of the incredibly delicious and lavish smorgasbord that was Lee and Gavin's wedding gift to us.

David and I read the latest installment over the weekend aloud to each other (just as we did with Book 5). We both loved the book and the joy of experiencing it together. I enjoyed the book so much that I reread all of my favorite chapters again last night! Of course, I am a Harry Potter fanatic, but I strongly encourage you all to join the mania, if you haven't already.

An aside: What is with these not-G-rated Google ads? Sheesh! I am showing photos from my wedding, Google! Shape up!

Vows and Rings

In accordance with Colorado Law, David and I married ourselves. There were no "I Do's" in our wedding ceremony, no traditional phrases at all. We wrote our vows together and recited them each in turn. It was moving and exhilarating and emotional and very, very us. Enjoy!

Happy Birthday, husband!

Please send a happy birthday to David! I love you, husband!

This morning we had a lovely birthday breakfast with David's family (now my family!) before they headed back to New Mexico/New Jersey. Tonight we are celebrating by camping out in our new tent in the backyard. Since we have lots of wedding left-overs, we are saving the special birthday meal until tomorrow.
