Spring Break Trip: Yarn

In Taos, a gallery hung strains of yard outside their shop. Loved the colors and textures.

I can't believe I am still (slowly--sorry!) posting photos from Spring Break back in March. Since then, David's received a master's degree in electrical engineering, we've had a giant bash to celebrate, and are now settling into our summer routine (in which I have a much harder time getting out of bed, since David can now sleep in late!). All sorts of big and little things filling our lives: my folks are coming to visit in a couple of weeks, we're heading up to Colorado State for Chandra's graduation, and I'm having a few girlfriends over for a fondue dinner tonight. Things are good!

Stop light

Just before sunset driving around Boulder... taken before the big snow storm yesterday. Pictures of that to come.

Sorry for the infrequent updates! Lots has been going on in the Spritzer Leyba house: school, work, wedding planning, working out, hanging out, reading! Less time for the internet and picture taking. Besides, I'd rather post a few quality photos a week than a photograph every day. I hope you agree... Thanks for your patience! And thanks for your wonderful comments!

Tea Spot IV

The next day we went back to the Tea Spot with the Holdeners. We tried scones and chocolate; drank hot chocolate, green tea, and chai. Chase slept the whole time... We chatted about graduate school and planned for our upcoming vacation together. It was a lovely afternoon!

This photo is of the bouquet of dried flowers at our table. Neat wall texture!

Pick your blend. Canisters of green tea, white tea, black tea, organic tea, and herbal infusions line the wall. {as seen through the metal divider separating the ordering from the enjoying}

Above the entryway to their house, Melanie and Jeff embedded pieces of driftwood into the cob.

In the Spritzer-Leyba house, we are obsessing over cob: buying books on cob construction and getting excited about building a cob house of our own in the next couple of years.

Bottle wall

David and I toured a cob house built from scratch by our friends Melanie and Jeff. Above is one of my favorite parts of the house: a wall made entirely out of bottles along the length of their sunroom.
